Lovell Gillespie-Anders, affectionately known as "Suga" was born in Fitchuga , Arkansas on August 28, 1928 to the late Isom and Minnie Spearman. The longtime resident of Newport, Arkansas relocated to Akron nearly 12 years ago to be closer to family after the death of her husband. Ms. Lovel departed this life on Saturday, July 23, 2016 She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Shirley (Larry) Cox of Akron, Ohio and Jeanette Powell of Wagarville, Alabama; one son, Clarence (Virginia) Gillespie of Akron, Ohio; four sisters, and one brother; grandchildren, Teresa and Todd Gillespie, Chanta, Michael and Brian Powell, Constance, Walter, Cox, Tina, Derrick and Barbara Gillespie; sixteen great grandchildren; twenty one great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will mourn her passing, yet celebrate her life.
Celebration of life service will  be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 12 noon at St. Paul AME Church 1250 S. Hawkins Ave. Akron, Ohio 44320. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Bruce Butcher, eulogizing. Interment at Mt. Peace cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 766 Frederick Blvd. Akron, Ohio 44320.
