“The Lady”, Hattie Ree Jones was born February 2, 1922 in Covington, Georgia. She was the third born of four children, to John Hardwick and Flora Sidwell. Hattie was a very out-going lady, who enjoyed people, having a good time and she enjoyed a good laugh. She could and would always share the most interesting tall tales. She love to cook and baked a “Delicious” peach cobbler. Hattie loved to “Fish” and her favorite fishing spots were: Salt Fork, Freemont and Lake Erie.
Hattie was the oldest living charter member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, until her recent passing. Hattie faithfully served in the Choir and on the Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Daniel and Jimmie Hardwick; sister, Nettie Harris; son, Nathaniel Jones; daughter, Josephine Williams; grandson, Stacy Burnett.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory; daughters, Annette Ball (Lewis), Anna Burnett (Bobby), Darlene Jones and Patricia Brown (Anthony) all of Canton, Ohio and Gloria Smith (Deacon Delaney, Jr.) of Austin, Texas; son-in-law, Deacon Samuel Williams; (17) grandchildren, Kracia Williams (David), Samuel Williams, (Leverta), Ashonda Trice (Robert) D’Artanyan Jones (Maxine), Dante Jones, Gillette Jones, Quiltel Jones (Robin), Shelly Ryals (Cedric), Bobby Moore (Kerry), Travis Tuck (Erin), Pastor Tremayne Tuck (Maria), Tiffany Appollonio (Christopher), La Tricia Turner (Howard), Ivy Gatlin (Alfred), Anthony Brown (Erica) , Patrice Brown; nieces, Olivia Collier and Brenda Smalls both of Canton, Ohio; nephews, Jimmie Lee Hardwick (Rose) of Fort Worth, Texas and Mark Baker of Canton, Ohio (60) great-grandchildren, (21) great-great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
