SANDRA L. JAMES

God’s beloved daughter entered her resting place in the arms of Jesus on November 29, 2022.  Sandra was the sixth child of eleven siblings.  She was born April 29, 1944, to the late Arthur & Sarah McCall in Millbrook, Alabama.

Sandra was a proud lifelong resident of Akron, OH attending Akron Public Schools.  Sandra was employed at Warrensville Development Center retiring with 25 years of service.  She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church serving on the Hospitality Committee & Noon Day Prayer Service.  She enjoyed hanging with her Lunch-Bunch Group of retirees from the State of Ohio once a month.  She loved to cook and was gifted in making the best chicken noodle soup, vegetable soup, cabbage & fried corn.  She didn’t mind making soup for anyone who was sick.  People always said it was her healing soup. 

She was preceded in death by husband Detroit (Sonny) James, son Ander (Booney) Haley, parents Arthur & Sarah McCall, siblings Darrell McCall, Mary Tabler, Charles McCall, Gloria Tucker, Mattie Stewart, Lecount McCall, extended siblings, Frances Reid, Benny Fountain & Lawrence Little and best friend Lucy Mccalister. 

Sandra leaves to cherish her memory devoted daughter Tracy (Darrell) Massey, daughter in law Costella Haley, granddaughters Dezarae & Haley Clark, grandsons Tyler & Jalen Haley, great grandchildren, Jurzhi Clark & Tariq Haley, siblings Deliah Tabler, Lil (Paul)) Evans, Carlisa (Curtis) Allen & Ezzard McCall, sister in laws Izola Humphrey, Barbara Bonds & Angela Bush,  special cousin Johnnie (Alberta) McCall special nieces Sarah (Beth) Reid & Rochelle Tabler-Antwi, bonus sister Sheila Fambro, special friend Betty Woolford, special daughter Kim Rox and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
