On December 14, 2025, the Lord called home one of His greatest creations, after a long and courageous battle.
Zachary Jay Jordan (Zack) was born March 18, 1956, to the late Ambrose and Melva Lou Jordan.
Zack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Zack had a special bond with many of his relatives. Zack was a father to many more than just his own children and he saw no burden in accepting that role.
He was well known around Akron as a musician, playing in many bands throughout his lifetime. His love for music also led him to become a D.J. He played at many ceremonies and celebrations, and he touched many hearts through his music. As a coach and business owner Zack continued his quest of extending love to his community. Many affectionately knew him as "The Ice Cream Man", and he was engrained in their memory for his kindness and willingness to share happiness with the kids in neighborhoods. It didn't matter if he didn't earn a dime, he wanted them to feel special and happy. As a football and basketball coach, Coach Jordan mentored many young men and left them with lessons they will always remember.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Alice Jordan; daughters, Shontaya (Rick) Dawley, Destiny Jordan, and Brittany Jordan; brother, Ricky Jordan; sister, Amber Jordan; grandchildren, DyLante Richardson, David Richardson, Armani Jordan Wallace, Savion Jordan Wallace, and Bobbi Jai Jordan, he also had (7) great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Per Zachary's request, there will be no repass, instead the family will celebrate his life with a party at The Nalijaron Winery located at 2535 Romig Road, Akron, Ohio 44320.
Condolences may be sent to 540 Bacon Ave., Akron, Ohio 44320
