Willie “Wallah” Albert Hunter Sr., aged 79, of Columbus, Georgia, peacefully passed away on March 12, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Willie’s life was a testament to dedication, compassion, and a profound love for his family and community. He lived each day with enthusiasm, cherishing every moment. A proud alumnus of McKinley Sr. High, Willie continued his journey by serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he exemplified honor and integrity while defending his country. After his military service, he devoted many years to The Timken Company, ultimately retiring after a long and rewarding career. Willie was a devoted fan of the Canton McKinley Bulldogs and The Ohio State University. He had an unmatched passion for sports and his community. His legacy of love, support, and active involvement will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his siblings, Velma, James Jr., Nadine, Larry (June), and Julia; his children, Willie Jr., Tawonda, Angela, and Chrisonta Marie; as well as his grandchildren, Jeremiah, Kierra, Jasmine, Devon (Alyssa), Orlando (Marla), Vincent (Heather), Langeria, Marco, Aryon, Clifton Jr., Ny’Relle, Krisona, and a multitude of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc. Willie will be deeply missed but will live on in the cherished memories of his family and friends.
Willie left a message for his family and friends, “I’m going to be ok, y’all the ones left here with Trump!”
