Wendell E. Burros "Scoopie", age 70, passed away on December 26, 2020. He was born on October 10, 1950 in Akron, OH to Andrew and Winnell Burros. He graduated from Akron South High School in 1969. He was a lover of odd jobs working as a painter, a funeral preparer, a driver, and finally as a butler for 15 years. He loved a good western movie or TV show, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He was known to his friends as the "rocket scientist" for knowing every question on Jeopardy. Wendell is preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers, Leander "Butch" and Robert Burros; and brother-in-law, Charles Boyd. He leaves to forever cherish his loving memory, daughters, Kathen Williams and Christan Burros of Cleveland, OH; sons Jjamall Williams (Tamika) and Marcus Burros; sisters; Brenda Boyd, Paulette Burros both of Houston, TX., and Kathryn Colwell of Charlotte, NC; brother, Stevie (Cheri) Burros of Greenville, SC; special aunt Beverley Yokley, sister-in-law, Vivian Burros; former wife, Tami Carter; best friends, Billy McCallister, Darrell Butler, Lucy Darnell and Raymond Walker; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Services will be held on today, Friday, January 8, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave. Akron, OH 44306 where family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until time of service. Condolences for the family may be sent to 151 Winchester Rd. #103 Fairlawn, OH 44333. Mask will be required to attended services.
