SYDNEY BROWN Obituary

Sydney Brown 23, of Canal Winchester departed this earth on September 13, 2020 after a hard-fought battle with brain cancer.  Sydney was born November 19, 1996 in Canton, Ohio.  She was a 2015 graduate of Reynoldsburg High School where she played volleyball and softball.  During her senior year, she was the softball team’s MVP and the Ohio Capital Conference softball team Special Mention for   the 2015 season.  Sydney received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Kent State University in May of 2019 and planned to obtain her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Sydney believed in God’s grace and mercy throughout her life.  From an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.  She re-dedicated herself as an adult at Ebeneezer Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio.  Sydney was full of life and she enjoyed traveling.  The love that Sydney had for her family and friends was immeasurable, and she enjoyed spending time with them above all else.  She was big sister and protector to her two brothers.  Sydney had a special bond with her granddad that only the two of them can understand.  She lived her life to make her family proud.  Sydney was a strong young woman with a caring heart of gold. 

She is preceded in death by her sister Nia: grandmothers , Joan Francisco and Marianne Francisco.  Sydney is survived by parents Reggie (Nicole) Brown and Tina Francisco; brothers,  Darius Brown and Terrell Edwards; grandparents ,Tommy and Brenda Brown, David Francisco Sr.; great grandmother, Sadie McInnis; uncles, Shawn (Andrea) Brown, David (Frances) Francisco Jr., Shawn Fontes, Steven Hathaway, Jonathan (Angela) Hathaway, Michael Burns; aunts, Melissa Brown, Tricia (Maurice) Horner, Shelley Hathaway, Bobbi Hathaway; cousins,  Chezaray, Cortney, and Carter Brown, Samantha and William Simmons, Shaelah Lopes, Taylor Warner, Hailey Vaughn; and a host of  additional cousins, great aunts and uncles; special friends, Jaque McClellan, Aonesti Williams, Da'Vante Campbell, Sierra White.  She will be missed by her additional families, the McClellans, Giddens, Randles and Davidson-Barber families.
