On January 28, 2020, Roosevelt Vernon Gardner born to Ruben B. and Ruby L. Gardner. He graduated from McKinley High School and attended Bowling Green University on a football scholarship. Roosevelt was a master upholsterer second to none. His work will live on far past his life. He loved to read all types of books and watch movies. He attended The Light in Christ Church, he would go to prayer early in the morning and loved to read the Word. After failing health in 2018, Roosevelt was moved into a nursing home facility where he resided until his death. Preceding him in death were Father, Ruben and Mother Ruby Gardner, Stepmother LeAnna Gardner, Sister Tracey Gardner and his beloved companion Virginia (Ginny) Frazier). Roosevelt leaves to mourn his loss: brothers Ruben (Cynthia) Gardner of Rose Hill, NC. Avery Gardner and Orlando (Donna) Gardner of Canton; his adopted family; sister: Linda Patterson, who was also his care taker, Brother Walter Williams, Daughters Star Frazier, Canton and Candice Washington, Massillon and son Jonathan Washington, Durham, NC. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
