RONALD A. BLAND JR.

Ronald Bland II affectionately known as “Scooter” and Big P.¨ He was born October 19, 1957, to Ronald Sr and Irma Bland. He departed this life on Monday, May 1, 2023. Scooter was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio and attended Akron Public Schools. Scooter was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life Toni Bland and from this union two children were born, Shasity S. Bland and Ronald “Little” Bland III.  

Scooter was loved by many near and far. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State football team and the Cleveland Browns. Scooter loved to play cards, dominoes and to go fishing. He loved and cherished his family especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Toni R. Bland, son, Ronald “Little” Bland III, Mother, Irma Bland, Father Ronald Bland Sr. (Jackie) and brother David Bland. Scooter will continue to live on through the hearts of those who loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Shasity S. Bland and son Devlin Bland of Akron, OH. Grandchildren Mierra Bland of Columbus, OH, Darrean “Deac” Canty, Sintrell Bland, Tyana Steel and Chane Boone of Akron, Ohio. Great Grandchildren Cassidy and Eastyn Canty. Sisters Leslie Ludle, Ruby and Jerylynn Bland. Brothers Donald (Valerie) Bland, John Bland and Jeff (Renee) Ludle. Uncle Fred Bland. Sister in-laws Nadine Bagley and Camilla Martin, all of Akron, OH. Special friends Eric Gladman of Akron, OH. Tom and Valerie Powers of Virginia. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews’ cousins and friends.

The family would like to express their love and gratitude to John Bland and Yvette Jones. Also to DaZuan Coppinger (Great Nephew) and London Beecher a special shout out for their weekly visits to Scooter’s just to check on him, play a few hands of cards, to laugh and talk which meant so much to him.
