Richard Jordan Brown was the youngest son of John and Anne Mozelle, born December 23, 1937. He began his academic career at the ripe old age of three years old. He attended school in Akron, at Bryan Elementary, Jennings Junior High and for high school transferred to Hower Vocational. In his academic career he was always younger than the average student due to his advanced intelligence and abilities. One week after he graduated from high school on June 8, 1955, he joined the Navy at Great Lakes Navel Training Center in Illinois.
Richard loved his service in the Navy. The discipline and commitment he learned there helped to grow him up. The Navy also gave him a chance to travel the world, learn new cultures and meet friends from every corner of this planet. One of his proudest naval accomplishments was crossing the Artic Circle at 20 years old, September 20, 1957, on board the USS Mercury.
Richard loved life and was drawn to the excitement and energy in other people. Once he left the Navy, he committed to living a FULL, FRUITFUL, DO IT WHILE YOU’RE YOUNG LIFESTYLE.
Richard spent most of his professional career working in Sales and Environmental Services and had a passion for building relationships, persuasion and winning people over. Even in his final years, you can see his charisma in every photo.
Through Richard’s life he would marry and be blessed with three biological daughters and many others that he would “adopt” and love just the same. Richard was and will always be a wealth of wisdom and memory for each one of us and he will be dearly missed by those of us that remain.
Richard is survived by two daughters, six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends and extended family. His influence, generosity and wisdom are felt in every corner of this world and now that he is gone, will find their way to Heaven. We are deeply saddened by this terrible loss and wish him our deepest love on his final journey.
