Richard F. Aldridge, 78, of Canton, Ohio, peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, January 9, 2025. Born on August 6, 1946, in Marion, Alabama, Richard was the cherished son of the late John and Marian Aldridge. Richard graduated in 1966 from Lincoln High School in Marion, Alabama. As a young boy, Richard relocated to Canton, Ohio, where he built a fulfilling life. He worked diligently at LTV Steel and was a proud member of Local Union 1200. A man of strong faith, Richard found his spiritual home at Bethel CME Church in Canton, where he sang joyfully in the Senior and Men’s Choirs and faithfully served on the Trustee and Missionary Boards. Richard was known for his warm heart, his love of classic Westerns, and his deep devotion to the Lord. His hands were never idle; he found joy in quilting, creating beautiful pieces that became treasured gifts for his loved ones. He was also delighted in preparing thoughtful care packages, acts of kindness that brought comfort to so many. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Naomi Aldridge; his parents, John and Marian Aldridge; his brother, Clarence Oliver; and his sisters, Lizzie Kelly and Laura Brown. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Ida Dobson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Inez Williams of (Augusta, Georgia); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a large circle of family and friends who will forever hold his memory dear. Special Thanks to the staff at Altercare Alliance. Though he has departed this earthly life, Richard’s legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
