PATRICIA ANN PENSON

Patricia A. Penson, went to be with the Lord, May 31, 2025.  Born,  December 31, 1944 to the late Charles and Julia Ray, raised and nurtured by her aunt and uncle David and Allie Scissum, whom she affectionately called Mom and Dad.  Patricia was the devoted wife of John Penson for 40 years, together for 42 years, and the loving mother of seven children, Deanna, Allie, Curtis Jr., Sherry, Shannon, and step-children, Santonia and John Jr. 

Patricia retired from Bank One, formerly the Firestone Family Bank after 24 years of dedicated service. She was a minister of the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Her message was “End Times Bible Prophecy”.  Patricia was the founder of “Simple Bible Truth Ministry”, where she was a talk show personality on 1690 FM radio.  She was a gifted psalmist and pianist.  Her and her siblings formed a gospel group called The Rays of God as well as the group Ecclesia.  Patricia is the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman, and her light and legacy will be remembered and honored by all who knew and love her.

Patricia is reunited with her biological parents, Charles and Julia Ray; her bonus parents, David and Allie Scissum; son, Curtis Wilkerson Jr. and step-son, John Penson Jr.; grandson, Raupheal Wilkerson; son-in-law, Kevin Harvey Sr.; siblings, Sammy, Melvin, Betty, John, Willie, Joyce, Reginald, and Eddie;.

Blessed to live amongst five generations, she leaves to cherish her precious memory, her beloved husband, John Penson, whom she affectionately called J.P.; sisters, Ella Mae, Helen, Margie, Prody, and Carol Ann; brothers, Joe and Charley, all of Akron, Ohio; children, Deanna (Jeffrey) Durham of Akron, Ohio, Allie Harvey of Akron, Ohio, Sherry Wilkerson of South Carolina, Shannon Jackson of Los Angeles, California, Santonia Penson of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren of the home, Treon Sibley and Tyrae Jackson, (20) grandchildren, (34) great grandchildren, (12) great-great grandchildren; best friend, Belinda Thomas; caregivers, Santeria Johnson and Francine Jones, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
