NATHAN SIMMONS

Nathan Simmons, age 65, was born to the late Leo R. Simmons and Sarah F. Simmons on June 15, 1959 in Barberton, Ohio.  He was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio until he departed this life on April 30, 2025.

Nathan graduated from Buchtel High School and served in the Marine Corps.  He worked as a maintenance supervisor at the John S. Knight Center for over 10 years.  He was also a skilled carpenter for over 30 years helping customers throughout the greater Akron areas.

Nathan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was known for walking through the neighborhoods, playing cards, watching his favorite TV shows, and he never turned down something sweet to eat.

Nathan is preceded in death by his father Leo R. Simmons, mother Sarah F. Simmons, and sisters Cheryl V. Simmons and Salbrina Simmons.

Nathan leaves to cherish his memory, his two children Nathan Garrett and Glenna Knox; sisters Ann (Jeff) Gwen, Mary Simmons, and Angelene (Michael) Irvin; brothers John (Deborah) Simmons, Paul Simmons, Leo Simmons, Jr., and Michael (Cherrelle) Ingol, along with 7 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
