MRS. FANNIE SMITH Obituary

Mrs. Fannie Mae Smith went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2026, affectionately known as Gramma, Fannie was born on November 25, 2025, to the late John Williams and Mary Dizzel. 

Fannie was a member of People's Baptist Church, transitioning to Mt. Zion in the late 80's.  She worked at City Laundry of Akron for 35 years. 

She enjoyed puzzles, solitaire, casino visits, and any time that she could spend with her family. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards with her club members, bingo, and scratch off tickets were her all-time favorite. Her 100th birthday celebration was filled with a lot of love and memories that we all will cherish and hold in our hearts forever. 

In addition to her parents, Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Smith; children, Emma Eddie Robinson, Ulysee Coleman, John Lewis James, Coleman, John Westley Coleman; and sisters, Ida Mae Smalls, Nellie Turner of Columbus, Mississippi. 

Fannie leaves to mourn her children, Dosey Turner and Teresa Taylor both of Akron as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; special sister-in-law, Marie Thomas; and special friend, Sandy Clepper.  

Fannie Mae Smith will always be deeply missed.
