MONIQUE M. PEAK

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Monique Marie Peak went home to be with the Lord at the age of 43. She was born February 18, 1983 to parents: William (Bill) Peak, Jr. and Maryann Carpenter Smith in Massillon, Ohio. She attended the Massillon Public School system and later attended Stark State College, earning an associates degree in Phlebotomy. She also pursued Medical Billing and Coding. Her employment history included several health care facilities in Akron, OH until her health no longer allowed her to work. Monique accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Joe Sinclair at Friendship Baptist Church in Massillon, OH. She later joined the New Beginnings Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Hubert Carpenter also in Massillon, OH. Mokkie, as she was affectionately known, enjoyed traveling, shopping and bowling; but especially loved spending time with her family. Monique leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Tejuania Rayale Cundiff of Canton, OH; one brother, William “Billy” Peak III of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Erica (Shawn) Lemon of Massillon, OH and Bre (Mook) Smith of Columbus, OH; stepmother, Marcia Peak of Massillon, OH; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins; special friend and life partner, Kyle Mayle and family; and special aunt, Angela “Angel” Chappell, along with other special family and friends, Pearline Thomas, Devone Spencer, Ebony Gogo, Trieisua Carpenter, Eliza Hamilton, Jacquayla Wagner, Terrence Suggs, Porsha King, Toya Birdsong, Lorenzo Hinton, Toccara Carpenter, Keyaunta McCullough, Vivian McClain, Elijah Baldwin, Bobby Cundiff and Maleia Mason. She was preceded in death by her father, William Peak, Jr.; mother, Maryann Carpenter Smith; sister, Sameika Carpenter Johnson; stepfather, Frank Smith, Sr.; grandparents, Margaret Dampier, Ernest and Yvonne Grace and Morris Carpenter, an aunt, Chandra Carpenter; and uncle, Michael (Eli) Peak.
