MARIE CHEEK

Marie Cheek, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 8, 2025, following an extended illness. Marie was born in Huntsville, Alabama, to the late Thomas and Izlor (Tibbs) Pride Sr. She attended McKinley High School and later retired from the Stark Developmental Disability Board where she dedicated many years of compassionate service to others. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness North Congregation. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Keith D. Cheek of Canton, Ohio; brothers Tibbs, Hundley, and Thomas Pride Jr., all of Canton, Ohio; and sisters, Hundlean Dykes of Canton, Ohio, and Edmonia Jefferson of Huntsville, Alabama, and son-in-law Robbie Robinson of Canton, Ohio. Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Lawrence Cheek Jr. of Canton, Ohio; daughters, Michelle Cheek and Krystal Robinson (Cheek) both of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Quiana and Lanee’ Bradley of California, Maryland, Roland (Melanie) Cheek of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sean-Eric Cheek of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and great-grandchildren, Carter Cheek of Canton, Ohio, and Nava and Ruby Cheek of Cincinnati, Ohio. She also leaves behind her devoted niece, April (Chenault) Jerry McLeod of Canton, Ohio, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the deep love she shared with her family.
