LORETTA LUCAS

Loretta Lucas went home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2026, at the age of 90.

Loretta was born to the late William and Willie Bell Turner on September 26, 1935, in Ashville, Alabama.

Loretta was a homemaker who enjoyed baking cakes, pies, and cooking for her family. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Loretta was a faithful member of New Mission Missionary Baptist Church for many years, where she sang in the choir, participated in church fundraisers, and handled church offerings under the leader, teacher, and guide of Pastor Robert H. Aaron Jr.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry Turner, John Edward Turner, of Akron, Ohio, sister, Robbie Byers of Ashville, Alabama, and husband William Frank Lucas.

Loretta is survived by her (8) children, Maurice Turner, Demetra Turner, Gregory Turner, Tyrone Turner, Lisa Turner, Alex (Dawn) Turner, Brian Turner, and Rodney (Daphne) Turner; grandchildren, she raised, Jodie Turner, LaDonn Smith, Gione Smith, and Duane Lucas; a total of (14) grandchildren,( 31) great-grandchildren, (3) great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
