LORETTA JEAN GIBBS

Loretta Jean Gibbs, 82, passed away unexpectedly on March 7, 2025. She was born on December 22, 1942, in Canton, Ohio to Carlene Sanders and Lafayette Gibbs. Known for her tenacity and dedication, Loretta retired from Ansell Perry after more than 30 years of service. Following her retirement, she worked for many years as a bus aide for Canton City Schools transportation. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Carlene (Sanders) Tarver and Lafayette Gibbs, as well as her brother, Otis Gibbs. She is survived by: her daughter Charletta Gibbs, son Harvey Jeter, granddaughter Christian Turner, and great-granddaughter Briseis Ball. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings: sisters Barbara (Sherman) Martin and Michele Terrell, and brother Eric Tarver. Additionally, Loretta is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones for whom she cared deeply. Affectionately known as "Aunt Loretta" to many, she leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, hard work, and resilience that will be cherished by all who knew her.
