LONNIE MARTIN Obituary

Lonnie Marie Martin, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on December 31st, 2021. Lonnie was born on August 6th, 1991, in Akron, OH to Robyn Moore and the late, Lonnie Atkinson III. She attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from East High School in 2009. Lonnie was only a few classes short of completing her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at The University of Akron. Lonnie had a contagious personality and an infectious smile. Undoubtedly, her lust for life manifested itself in every interaction, whether family, friend, or stranger. Lonnie never encountered anyone who did not appreciate her smile, for her smile brought rays of sunshine into every room. Lonnie was a devout Christian and a true believer in the Lord and His teachings. She loved the Lord, and she loved her family and her friends. Lonnie had an inseparable bond with her sister, Talor and her nephew, Tailun. She often referred to Tailun as “her baby.” Lonnie also enjoyed spending quality time with her Shih Tzu Yorkie, Kai. Lonnie had a unique spirit, and her absence will be insurmountable to all who knew her.

Lonnie was quite the daredevil, known uniquely for her fearlessness. She loved to travel, especially to her favorite place, Las Vegas. She was passionate about reading and relished in trinkets and creating things. Lonnie possessed quite a zeal for solving complicated and intricate problems and questions.  Unbeknownst to many, Lonnie also had a fervid desire of cars, with her favorite car being the 1966 Pontiac GTO.

Lonnie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Imogene Atkinson, and Uncle, Nathan Moore. She is survived by her loving, devoted Husband, Todd Robert Martin; Parents, Robyn Moore and Thomas Townsend; Grandmother, Carolyn Moore; Siblings: Talor Townsend, Chevonne Smith, Erique Atkinson, Lonnie Atkinson IV, and Jh’Quorie Thomas; Beloved Nephew, Tailun Johnson; Aunt, Shamara Atkinson; and Special Aunt and Uncle, Heidi and Larry Steens. Lonnie had a heart of gold, and her infectious smile will be missed by all who knew her.
