LINDA D. MURKINS

Linda D. Murkins, age 70, of Akron, Ohio passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on August 14, 1954, to Eula Mae Murkins and Earl Lee Gard. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Linda will be remembered for her unwavering strength and willingness to help anyone in need. Linda's life was her family and friends, always there with a comforting presence. 

Linda was a service technician for Ohio Bell, retiring in 2004 with 32 years of service. Her biggest joy in life was traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Murkins; brother, Terry Murkins; daughter, Marilyn Murkins; niece, Savannah Murkins; nephew, Antione Murkins; and brother-in-law, Tyrone Powers. 

She is survived by her loving son, Garland Murkins; sisters, Rosetta Powers, Brenda Butler and Michelle (Roy) Dorman; brothers, Henery Murkins and Michael (Valerie) Murkins; grandchildren, Essence (Amir) Murkins, Alvin (Laila) Stallworth, Jr., Garland Murkins, Jr. and Aaliyah Stallworth; great grandchildren, Nova Canty, Ailani, and one on the way; nieces, Dionne Murkins and Martoya Dorman; nephews, Teddy Powers, Scott (April) Powers, Richard (Melissa) Powers, Morris (Rose) Jackson, Jr., Brandon Murkins and Michael Murkins, Jr.; friends whom she considered family, Carrie Jones, Lena Wynn, Tameka Thornton and Shanti Davis; a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. 

As per Linda's request, there will not be a funeral service. Her final request was to be cremated and reunited with her daughter Marilyn.
