June Ellene (Sparkman) Whitt, 64 departed this life on January 30, 2024, She was born on June 15, 1959 in Canton, Ohio to the union of Elder Willie J Sparkman Sr and Girlene (Cannon) Sparkman.
June attended Waco Elementary, Walker Jr High School and graduated from Canton South High School. June began with a great love of music and started wanting to join the family band; David and the Truetones around the age of 11. She joined her brothers, other relatives and family friends starting on the bass guitar and then progressing to the lead guitar and adding love to singing. June played with many bands within the community and her favorite to play was gospel but she was known best as a blues guitarist. Her recent greatest joy was working in ministry with I.M.P.A.C.T Evangelistic Center COGIC.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Whitt; parents: Elder Willie J Sparkman Sr and Girlene (Cannon) Sparkman.
June leaves to cherish her memory, sons Jacob Sparkman and Justin Sparkman of Canton,Ohio. Granddaughters Alicia & Charletta and grandson Cameron. Brothers Willie J (Dorothy) Sparkman Jr of Atlanta, Georgia and David L Sparkman of Los Angeles, California. Sisters Shirley A (Jerry) Mitchell of Massillon, Ohio and Celeste P Sparkman-Lewis of Covington, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to extend a heart-filled thank you to all who loved her and celebrated her life.
