JOYDIE KIDD

Joydie Kidd, 78, was called home to be with the Lord September 20, 2025, after an extended illness.  

She was born on June 16, 1947, in Akron, Ohio to Detroy and Gracie Carruthers. Joydie graduated from Central High School.  In 2008 Joydie retired from First Merit Bank after 33 years of dedicated service. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She enjoyed attending the Browns and Cavs games and track meets. Joydie also enjoyed bowling, family vacations, weekend trips, family gatherings, and her "turnip green dinners" with her sisters.  

Joydie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Maezella Tipton, Maetroy Veal, and Dixie Wilson; brothers, Floyd, Roy, and Detroy Jr.,; sons, Cedric and Earl III. 

Joydie leaves to cherish her precious memory to her loving husband of 55 years, Earl Kidd Jr.; son, Rodney; daughter-in-law, Leonna Kidd; grandsons, Justin, Joseph, Jordan, Nathaniel, and Xavier; granddaughters, Jocelyn, Angel, Brittany, and Ebony; 8 greatgrandchildren; sisters-in-law/caregivers, Lana (Ken) Long, Deloris (Clint) Morgan and her daughter-in-law Leonna; best friends, Lana and Phyllis Johnson, as well as a many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Traditions Hospice, Q, T, Jen, Debbie, Kathy, and Sue.
