Joyce Consuella Master was born in Decatur, Alabama, on November 28, 1946, to Larvette (Swoope) Mitchell and Edward Mayes. She transitioned to being with the Lord on November 5, 2024.
Joyce grew up in Lansing, Michigan, and later moved to Akron, Ohio. She worked in the clothing industry and had experience in various other roles, including the hotel industry. Joyce had vivacious personality and brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered. She was a lover of the simple pleasures in life and had a heart of gold.
Joyce enjoyed many hobbies, including skating, dancing, and pampering herself. She took pleasure in bringing happiness to others, always making sure everyone around her shared in the good times.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Calvin Master.
Joyce leaves a prestigious legacy, honored by her children: Walter, Edwina, Consuella (late husband, Darran), and Nolan. She is also remembered lovingly by her 11 grandchildren: Darrius, Cierra-Consuella, Keyon, Davonte, Cheria, Timika, Tanisha, Tyisha, Tamea, Darran, and Davion (Kristen). Joyce will also be remembered by a host of family members, including her great-grandchildren, and dear friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
