Johnny Frank Bentley, also affectionately known as John or JB earned his heavenly wings on December 31, 2020.
John was born October 31, 1940 in Roberta, Georgia to Willie and Mary Bentley. He was educated in the Crawford County School System, graduating in 1956.
John was joined in holy matrimony to Wilhelmena Colbert. At the time of his passing, they had been married for 57 years. To their union, two sons were born: Gartrell and Paul Anthony.
John relocated to Akron with his brothers Thomas and Clinton, to work in the automobile industry. John retired from General Motors Corporation in 2006, with 38 years of service.
John was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and was on the Trustee’s board. Additionally, he was a member of Roberta Chapter 467 Order of the Eastern Stars and Musella Chapter 319 Order of Eastern Stars.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Walter, Thomas, Clinton and Willie Bentley.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Wilhelmena, sons; Gartrell (Cathi), Paul (Melissa); Grandchildren, Demetrius (Calinda), Madison and Eric; Great-granddaughter, Logan; Siblings, Mary Lucas (Macon, GA), Evelyn Williams (Decatur, GA), Arthur Bentley and Freddie Roy (Sylvia) Bentley (Roberta, GA); Sister-in-Laws, Addie Pearl Ivey and Louise Colbert (Culloden, GA); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
