He married the love of his life Alyce “Peach” in 1994, and they were married for 30 years. They loved traveling the world together and they looked forward to their weekly movie dates together.

Jesse loved caring for his family, he was blessed with a “serving spirit.” Jesse loved to sing, dance and smile. His laughter could fill up the room. Jesse was the oldest living male in the Thorton family.

Before his illness he last attended Zion Temple where he served as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Mark Anthony Ward. Jesses also took up playing the flute in his later years and enjoyed being outside working in his yard and garden.
