Jeffrey “Jeff” Lawrence Burks, age 55, of Canton, OH, died unexpectedly on November 17, 2023. He was born in Cleveland, OH on November 19, 1967, to Jimmie and Ethel Burks.
Jeff was a proud graduate of Glen Oak High School where he played basketball and met many of his lifetime friends. After high school, Jeff attended Kent State University and then joined the United States Army. Jeff was employed at Danner Press, Classic Drive Thru, and The Timken Research Company. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and; watching the Michigan Wolverines with his crew (GO BLUE).
Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie L. Burks Sr.; grandparents, Earnest and Lucille Burks, Caeser and Thelma Walls; aunts, Sandra Burke, Flora Coleman, Anne Lee Johnson, Mary Campbell, Darlene Williams, Rita Barrett and Wanda Cheek; uncles, Ernest Burke Jr., Larry Burke, Charles Thomas and Preston Rowser; sister-in-law, Midge Burks.
Jeff is survived by the following who will cherish his memory; his loving wife, Kellie of the home; mother, Ethel Burks; three children, Ashley (A.J.) Edwards, Jalynn and Javeonna Burks; five grandchildren, Harper, Jenzen, Novie, Yurhyeness and Goddess; one brother, Jimmie Burks Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; mother-in-law, Linda Cheek; brothers-in-law, Paul (Fanita) Cheek, Michael Cheek, Pierre (Dennie) Cheek, Greg (Erika) McIntrye; uncles, Theodore Thomas, Richard (Jackie) Thomas, Lawrence (Dorohy) Burke, Michael (Ronnie) Cheek; aunts, Janice “Faye” Stevenson, Edina (Fredrick T.) Carpenter, Arnice (Rocky) Southerland of Raleigh, NC, Susan (Arvester) Lowe; and Paulette McLendon; special nephew and niece, Jordan, and Jada; godson, Geoff; cousins and friends, Dwanyell, Michalynn (Mikee), Cherese, John (Crystal), Shawn (Andy), Korey (Val), Tori (Joy), Bobby (Taniza), Sandy (Monica); the Barber Shop Crew; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
