Irvin D Wilson, 66, departed this life on November 13, 2023. He was born in Akron, Ohio to his loving parents Ellis Wilson and Geraldine Wilson on May 17, 1957. Irvin "Ivan" Wilson attended Garfield High School, where he played basketball and was given the nickname of "Superfly". He later graduated and took interest in working for the City of Akron, where he retired after 30 years. Through his journey he was loved by many. His personality was one of a kind. He had a love for playing chess, and he always had a chess board set with him. He was ready to take on all comers. He enjoyed his aquariums full of piranhas, Oscars, and goldfish, just to name a few. Cars, Diamonds, and Gold was his favorite. Most importantly he loved spending quality time with his family listening and dancing to music. Irvin the best father in every since of the word, he was a phenomenal father, and his solidarity was unmatched. He was loving, caring, giving and accepting through our faults and he had enough love in his heart for each and every one of us, to know him was to love him. He took great pride in taking care of his children and being the greatest father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He will always be remembered as "Ivan The Great". Irvin was preceded in death by mother, Geraldine Wilson-Kennedy, father, Ellis Wilson Sr., stepmother, Sara Wilson, siblings, Ellis Wilson Jr., Bobby, Walter, Thomas, and Ricky. he leaves to mourn; sister, Almondine (Leon), stepsister Marsha, brothers, Eugene, and Larry, stepbrother, Elmo. children, Demeka Wilson, Scarlet Wilson, Tenice Townsend, Michel'le Townsend, Ivasha "Tvy" King, and D'Angelo King, grandchildren, Kyle Malone, Demond Townsend, Nardierre Townsend, Kelis Townsend, and One great grandchild.
