Mother Grace B. Haslam went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Mother Haslam entered this life on April 20, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan. She was one of eighteen (18) children born to “the late” Bishop John and Mother Callie White.
Mother Haslam along with her husband, “the late” Elder Landers Haslam conducted a street ministry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and cared for senior citizens in their home. They worshipped at the Old Jerusalem Church of the Living God under the pastorate of Elder Bernice Jeter.
The Haslam’s relocated to Akron, Ohio in 1989 and became members of the Faith Temple Church of the Living God, under the leadership of “the Late” Bishop David Drone.
The Haslam’s continued their outreach ministry in Akron by conducting praise and worship services at the Little Forest and Valley View Nursing Homes.
Mother Haslam had a beautiful alto voice and loved to sing. Her favorite song was “His Eye is on the Sparrow”. She was a prayer warrior and enjoyed praying and witnessing to people at the grocery store, mall, doctor’s office, hospital, on the bus, etc.
Mother Haslam truly loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Church of the Living God and her Pastor, Bishop Benjamin Drone.
Mother Haslam was predeceased by her parents; thirteen (13) siblings; husband, Elder Landers Haslam and her son, Elder Donald Landers. She leaves to cherish her memory, four (4) grandchildren; Tereze, Donna, Donald Jr. and Khalil, fifteen (15) great-grandchildren and twelve (12) great, great-grandchildren; two (2) sisters, Dorothy Mitchell and Doris Adams; two (2) brothers; Bishop Jesse White and Bishop Samuel White and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mother Haslam will be missed!
