GWENDOLYN TERRELL

Gwendolyn Louise Terrell affectionately known as “Glenda or Lou” to family. Gwendolyn was born on September 23rd, 1946, to T.K. Portis and Maggie Portis in Cuba, Alabama.

Gwen grew up in Toomsuba, Mississippi and Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1964. Gwen married her high school sweetheart Willie James Terrell Sr. Out of this union four children were born.

Gwen moved to Akron, Ohio in 1969 to continue her education at Akron University.  She soon after found work and was employed by St. Thomas Hospital fulltime and Board of Development Disabilities of Akron part-time.

Gwen had a big heart and never met a stranger. She would give you anything she had if you needed it, no question asked. Gwen loved gardening, dancing, fishing and cooking but most of all she loved having a good time with family and friends. Oh, can’t forget about her love for PEPSI.

She was proceeded in death by parents: T.K. Portis, Eugene and Maggie Radcliff. Siblings: T.K Portis Jr., Helen Jones. Sons:    Willie Terrell Jr. and Ronald Terrell. She leaves to cherish her memories; Stepmother: Annie Pearl Portis; Akron, Ohio. Daughter: Genine Terrell; Columbus, Ohio. Son: Robert Terrell Radcliff; Akron, Ohio. Brothers: Ernest (Wanda) Radcliff, Akron, Ohio. Seth Portis; Akron, Ohio. Sisters: Peggy Lofton; Buffalo, New York. Emma Hall; Meridian, Mississippi, Loretta Spencer; Akron, Ohio, Denise Williams; Akron, Ohio and Gloria Radcliff; Dayton, Ohio. Grandchildren: Emmit Green, Delshon Dudley, Ciara Terrell, Bridgett Terrell, Amber Mackey, Ayana Mackey, Diego Alford, Alexis Radcliff, Robert Radcliff Jr., Kevin Grant, Gianna Rogers, Ahmya Terrell, Kamari Thomas, Kalleigh Radcliff and Kynzeigh Radcliff. Great-Grandchildren: Emmit Jr., Emmerie, Major, Skyler, Alonzo, Zion, Zaylon, Nyla, Trinity and Harmony.
