Frank G. Winn, Sr., age 70, peacefully departed this life on December 23, 2024. Known affectionately as "Gerald," he was born on November 16, 1954, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Ruth L. Winn and Roosevelt C. Bickley.
Gerald was educated in Akron Public Schools and made his living as a self-employed jack of all trades. He married Deborah Mathis in May 1974.
Gerald's passions were many and varied, from fishing and cheering for the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Guardians to playing cards and attempting to dance. He had a love for dressing up in his stylish suits and matching hats, always confident and often saying, "I woke up like this!"
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, children Amir and Amia Winn, grandson, brother, aunts, and uncles.
Gerald leaves to cherish his memory his faithful companion, Lucinda Harvey, and his beloved dog, "Big Boy"; daughters, Crystal Winn, Ella Winn-Earley, Charity Brown, and Amber Winn; son, Frank Winn, Jr.; sisters, Erika (Petie Pie) James, Linda Bickley, Rosalyn (Johnny) Haines-Berger, Crystal (Calvin) Valrie, and Valerie Bickley; brothers, Sammy (Mary) Higgins, Larry (Robin) Bickley, Antonio Poole, and brother/cousin Eric (Dywana) Hill; special niece, Erika (Putt) James-Fielding; grandchildren, Tea, Mark, Treasurae, Arrington, Yonessjah, Ah’Rayna, and 10 great-grandchildren; aunt, Thelma Winn; his main buddy, "Ace"; extended family, Sharmon (Robert) Hughes, Taylor Lindsey, Emmanuel, and Crystal Brown; and a host of favorite cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gerald’s parting words to his family and friends would be “bye boy,” and our parting words to him would be, “we love you; we miss you; and rest in heaven!”
