Florida Wilson-Block was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday March 30, 2025. She was born September 9, 1950, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Louvenia (Gladney) Williams and LeRoy Miles. She moved to Akron at a young age and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of South High School. Florida was very invested in her community and passionate about assisting others. She was employed at Community Support Services for many years. She was also employed by the Area Agency on Aging as an Ombudsman. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mount Liberty Baptist Church where she sang in the Choir. She loved studying God’s word and giving him the “highest” praise. She shared the word of Christ with all that knew her. With regal beauty and grace she was an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. Florida loved music and dancing. She was an exceptional line and hand dancer. She was preceded in death by her mother Louvenia (Gladney) Williams and father LeRoy Miles; Sisters: Rosemary, Sharon and Charlotte Miles, Angela Dunagan; Brothers: Josa Miles, Bruce Ransom, Samuel Watkins; Special Family Member Samuel John Ransom. She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life, husband Clifford Block of Canton, Children; Daughter, LaShon (Jeanette) Wilson of Nevada, Son, Teon Wilson of Akron, Ohio, Stepsons; Timothy (Terri) Block, Walter Wilson Jr., Tony Wilson, Calvin Wilson, Shawn (Doreen) Block of Georgia and Dwayne Dunn of Akron, Ohio; Stepdaughters Danielle Block-Shuler of Canton, Ohio and Dorinda (Shawn) Davison of Canton, Ohio, and Angie Wilson. Sisters, Diane Smith, Linda Miles of Akron, Ohio, Barbara Goodgame, Beverly Robinson of Alabama. Brothers; Gary (Helen) Miles of Virginia, Lydell Miles of Akron, Ohio, Kenneth (Monica) Ransom of Alabama; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
