Fannie Dell Dancy was born on October 8, 1954, in Tuskegee, Alabama, to Catherine (Dancy) and Noah Philpott. She was the seventh of eight children. In 1956, Fannie, her mother Catherine, and six of her siblings moved from Tuskegee to Akron, Ohio, where they made their home.
She was blessed with one daughter, Charmaine, whom she deeply loved and devoted her life to. Charmaine was her world, and there was nothing Fannie wouldn’t do for her.
Fannie was a giver at heart — She gave even when she didn’t have it to give. Her generosity touched countless lives.
She was a faithful member of her church, attending services throughout her life. Whenever the doors were open, she was there!!
Fannie was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Dancy; brothers Jimmy Dancy and Willie Dancy; sisters Betty Ann Dancy and Jane (Dancy) Yates; nephews Herbert Brown Jr. and Jimmy Dancy Jr.; niece Barbara Culver; and great-nephew Jimmy Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Charmaine; sister Ollie (Herbert Sr.) Brown; brothers Henry (Amanda) Dancy and Walter Delbridge; granddaughters Brittanie Dancy-Reid and Shantia Dancy; grandsons Derek Hamilton and Devon Dancy; great-grandchildren Davion Mitchell, Jazzaire, Janiah, and Keon; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
