Heaven has gained another angel in our loved one, Emma Lou (Redvine) Oliver-Darby, age 85, of Canton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2021.
Emma was born to Alma (Joiner) Redvine and M.C. Redvine on August 20, 1935, in Carrollton, Georgia. She was a resident of Massillon, Ohio for many years.
She attended Loren Andrews Jr. High and Massillon High, now known as Washington High School until the 11th grade. She moved from Massillon, Ohio to Stamford, Connecticut in 1961 and back to Massillon in 1978, later moving to Canton, Ohio.
Emma loved her children and raised many of others over the years. She had a nurturing spirit and could not turn any child away. Always willing to help anyone in need anyway she could. She also had an eye for decorating and sewing. She loved to dress and took time to do her nails and looking fly. As the years progressed she was drawn to become a member of Abundant Life Harvest Church under the leadership of Pastors Mark and Janie Knight. Most recently she became a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Tommie Brewer and Lady Teresa Brewer. Emma loved praising, singing, and worshipping the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Oliver; brother, Bill Brady; (2) sisters, Christine Coats and Mary Collier.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Dale (Kimberly) Redvine, Rodney (LaTanya) Redvine, Nikevia Oliver; brother, Robert (Stella) Redvine; grandchildren, Delvaughn Brown, Cherelle Robinson, Akeim Oliver, and Deke (Molly) Phillips; great grandchildren, Ava Robinson, Aden Robinson, Aviana Oliver, Arriean Relford, Chloe Phillips, Maleke Phillips; step granddaughter, Dhea Rochelle (Gerald) Cox; step great grandson, Deante Keith Gray; honorary grandchildren, Corshelle Hillery, Ziona Robinson, Zierra Robinson, special longtime friend/cousin, Shirley (Longshore) Yoannopulos and Dorothy Turner, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
