In Loving Memory of Edward Kirtley
November 8, 1959 – March 28, 2025
Edward Kirtley, born on November 8, 1959, left this world on March 28, 2025. He will be remembered for his unique passions, hard work, and the memories he created with those who loved him.
Edward proudly served in the U.S. Navy, a chapter of his life that gave him a deep sense of pride and purpose. After his service, he spent 45 years as a skilled carpenter, dedicating himself to his craft and leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Edward had a love for motocross, the thrill of the ride reflecting his adventurous spirit. He was a fan of wrestling, classic western films, and old black-and-white movies like Frankenstein. One of his greatest joys was spending time at their place on Catawba Island, which felt more like a second home—a haven filled with laughter, stories, and peace.
A true Ford enthusiast, Edward had a deep loyalty to the brand and a well-known disdain for anything Chevy—a rivalry he never let anyone forget.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Karin, and his children Edward Jr., Bobby, and Angie. He is also survived by his brother Barry, his sister JoAnn, and his stepchildren Michael and Erik. Edward is reunited in peace with his parents, Mary Lou and Robert, and his stepson, Kris, who preceded him in death.
Ed's legacy is one of toughness, individuality, and a life lived unapologetically. As he always said, "It's not goodbye—it's tootaloo."
