Eddie Lott, Jr., age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2023 at Heatherknoll Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a stroke that happened on August 8, 2023. He was born on May 27, 1938 in Akron, Ohio to Eddie Lott, Sr. and Luvenia Lott.
Eddie joined the US Army and retired with an honorable discharge in 1962. Eddie drove tractor trailers for Wonder Bread, but unfortunately was forced to retire. His side hustle was selling CDs and movies (don’t tell anyone)! In his spare time he enjoyed fishing on his boat and loving on his 3 daughters, 10 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Eddie served as a Deacon at Greater Bethel Baptist Church where he was ordained by Pastor Elliot. He loved to listen to the late Bishop Petterson, Dr. E. Dewey Smith and Pastor “Won’t he do it, Won’t he fight your battles” Rudolph McKissick, Jr.. Eddie drove his vehicles to electric jazz music and imparted wisdom to anyone who would listen and gave his life testimonies. Eddie also had beautiful penmanship in print and cursive.
Eddie was married twice to and Ms. Nellie Nobles-Lott. He ate and left no CRUMBS! He also enjoyed sitting on his porch and watching his neighborhood.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Luvenia Lott, Sr.; brother, James Lott; and grandson, Davell Brock.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, son, Eric of North Carolina; daughters, Derlisa Brock, Mel Brock, Jamela Lott and Nicole Bowie-Jones all of Akron, Ohio; ex-wife, Nellie Nobles-Lott; 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; special friends, Marlon Stevenson and Mr. Floyd; sister-in-law, Regina Lott; and a host of other relatives and friends.
