Dorothy R. Lockhart-Roberson was born in Union Springs, Alabama May 5, 1942 but spent the majority of her life in Akron, Ohio. Dorothy was the 4th daughter of 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
She was a graduate of South High School Class of 1960. Dorothy attended the University of Akron with a B.A. in Social Work. She also worked as a teacher with the Akron Public Schools.
Dorothy is proceeded in death by her husband, Charles Roberson, Mother, Ethel Pearison, Father Ruben Lockhart, Stepfather Mack Pearison and Brothers Huey Dean and Freddie Pearson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her 3 children, Debora Lockhart, Troy Roberson, and Daniel Roberson; Stepdaughter, Tracey Roberson: Her sisters and brothers include Bessie (McKinley) Ferrell, Essie (Lynn) Harris, Nail (Joseph) Cobb, Clyde (Lawrence) Gulley, Maggie (David) Nesbitt, Bug (Daphne) Pearson, Freddie Pearison, and Jerome Pearison; Grandchildren, Kyle Roberson, Alaina Lockhart, Destiny Starks, Makayla Roberson, Cory Roberson, Camille Starks, and Troy Starks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was a devout Christian who loved God with all her heart. Mike Ferrell gave her the nickname “Pop head’. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her grandchildren who she called “Little dangs”, cooking, reading novels, watching the Christian television channels and reading her Bible daily.
Dorothy had a short illness , but she still continued to keep her faith. She was a wonderful woman with a quiet spirit and a beautiful heart who was loved by everyone that knew her.
