DORA HOLLING Obituary


 
Dora L. Holling, affectionately known as “Tiny” made her peaceful transition from labor to reward at the age of 76.  She was born February 1, 1942 in Columbus, Mississippi to her parents Flozell and Earlene Cooper.
 
Dora retired from Hilton Inn West after 20 plus years of service. She was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served on the Nurse’s Guild, Church Improvement Committee and the Food Pantry.  Upon her passing she was a member of the New Fellowship Baptist Church, where her brother the late Rev. Dr. Luther C. Cooper was founder and pastor.  Dora was a former member of the Ohio Black Women’s Leadership Caucus and an avid bowler until her failing health.
 
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Flozell and Earlene Cooper; brothers, McKinley Sanders, George Hairston, twins, Willie T. Cooper and Rev. Dr. Luther C. Cooper; uncles, Robert Thomas, Lucius and Alonzo Caine; aunts, Fannie Caine and Mary Hopkins. She leaves to forever cherish her loving memory, husband and caregiver Harvey Holling; sons, Mark Springer, Harvey Barnes, Edward Hamilton, and Johnny Moss; brother, Sylvester (Sally) Cooper; sister, Nettie (Peter) Thompson; aunt, Marie Thomas; granddaughter, Tamika (Cullen) Rogers; grandsons, Markell and Derrell Springer; sisters-in-law, CarLee Cooper, Isabelle (Mansfield) Coffey, Louise (Stanley) Massey, Ethel Hodges and Louethel (Larry) Scales; brothers-in-law, Richard Holling, Anthony Holling, and Charlie (Joyce) Holling; special great-grandchildren, O’Shae Foster and Javaan Rogers; special nieces, Carmela Cooper, Shavella (David) Brown, Misty and Melissa Green and Antoinette Hairston; her Springer family and a host of family and friends.
