DIANE HOOKS

Diane "Grandma Di" Hooks of Akron, Ohio departed this life on November 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. Diane was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Mary Louise Buchanan and Robert "Paul" Lee Hooks Sr.

During her lifetime she loved gathering with her family, playing bingo on Friday nights, playing pity pat, playing them slot machines, eating her Cool Ranch Doritos and drinking her Pepsi, going to the grocery stores, going thrifting and online shopping from QVC and HSN. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter Jasmine Hooks of Akron, Ohio; parents, Mary Louise Buchanan of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Robert “Paul" Lee Hooks, Sr of Albany, New York; brother, Robert Lee Hooks Jr.(Albany, New York); sisters, Julia Fain, Dorothy (Annie) Hooks, Mary Louise (Nooise) Hooks, Irene Marion, all of Akron, Ohio and Priscilla Pearson of Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

Diane is survived by her son Jamar (Leticia) Hooks, Sr of Akron, Ohio; (5) daughters, Camilla Martin, Kisa (Quincy) Hooks, Ebony (LeAndre) Kidd, Nykya Smith, Rhiajanee Hooks all of Akron, Ohio; (3) sisters, Priscilla Pearson of Grand Rapids, Brenda Lee Hooks of Albany, New York, Roslyn Pearson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; (2) brothers, Harold Pearson of Grand Rapids, Michigan and James Henry Hooks Sr. of Akron, Ohio, as well as 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and  special friends, Anthony Kidd and Cecelia Cheatham.
