DESTINY LAREE HOLMES

Destiny Laree Holmes made her unexpected transition to heaven.  God gave the breath of life to Destiny on May 14, 2001 in Toledo, OH. Destiny was born to Kore Holmes and Verlina Patrice Townsend. Destiny grew up in Columbus, Ohio and Jackson Township, Ohio with her mom. Her favorite color was blue and that would be all shades of blue. As a young child, Destiny loved reading books, and had a passion for drawing fashion design. For her birthdays and Christmas, she would tell the family she wanted books for reading and that was all. Destiny had a calm spirit, she was reserved. When she spoke the gravity of her thoughts were felt by all. Destiny absolutely loved playing cards and was bursting with anticipation of a great challenge. From the time of being a young child, Destiny was captivated by anime and she loved cats. Destiny loved her family and when there was a gathering, large or small, she was certain to be amongst her family that loved her presence! Destiny attended Jackson high School in Stark county and enjoyed her culinary classes over the years. In January 2019, Destiny lost her mom due to illness. Destiny graduated from Jackson High school, class of 2019. In August 2019, Destiny moved to Cleveland, Ohio to attend Cleveland State University. She was studying for her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in African American Studies. She would have graduated in 2025. Destiny was preceded in death by her loving mother Verlina Patrice Townsend of Jackson Township OH, Grandfather, Jameson L Townsend. Destiny was survived by dad Kore Holmes, Toledo OH. Grandparents Charles and Elsie Beverly, Massillon OH, Uncle Jameson L. Townsend II and Aunt Sheila Townsend, Stow OH; Uncle Charles E. Beverly II, Canton OH. Aunt Kathy Beverly, Columbus OH, Aunt Dorothea Beverly, Perry Township OH, Great Aunt Alice Prather, Canton OH, Great Aunt Virginia Ann Heidelberg, Canton Township OH, and cousins Jameson L. Townsend III, Sydnie Townsend, Evelynn Beverly, Vivian Beverly, Sylvia Beverly. As well as a host of cousins and friends.
