DELBERT ROBERT HILL, JR. “BOBBY DEL”

Delbert Robert Hill Jr., affectionately known as “Bobby Del,” passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on September 25, 1962, in Canton, Ohio, Bobby was a proud graduate of McKinley Senior High School, Class of 1982. He later earned a diploma in Computer Accounting from Mansfield Business College in 1985.

Bobby was the proud father of four children: Delbert III, Edward, Aloa, and Michele. His three eldest children were born of his marriage to Ida Hollins-Hill, and his youngest daughter, Michele, was born from a later relationship. He cherished each of them deeply.

After living in Columbus, OH, for many years, Bobby returned to his hometown in 2000 and dedicated more than 20 years working with his brother at Integrity Accounting Services, Inc., becoming known as the “Taxman”. A passionate sports enthusiast, he especially loved basketball and football. A Browns fan through thick and thin. He found joy in attending live games, playing video games, but most of all, spending quality time with his children and grandchildren.

A man of faith, Bobby was a former member of God-Given Church of God in Christ and, in recent years, worshiped at Unity Life/Wells of Joy Church of God in Christ. He was instrumental in reuniting members of the Southwest community through the Wells School Reunion. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert R. Hill, Sr.; dad, Henry A. Patterson; sister, Nina (Michael) Davidson, and brothers, Henry Stevan (Nicole) Patterson, Henry “Arnie” (Joyce) Patterson and Tyrone Patterson; uncles, Walter B. (Lena) Williams and Wilbur L. (Charlotte) Williams; and his beloved grandmother, Odell Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Delbert “Little Bob” Hill, III, Edward Hill, Aloa Hill, and Michele Kendell. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kiara, Pacience, Zhionna, Marnae, Preston, Delbert IV, and Kamden; and his great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, Jihar, Ky’Ryee, and Zaliyah. His mother, Linda K. Patterson; brothers, Kenneth (Joyce) Hill, Michael (Mary) Patterson; sisters Cheryl (Alfred – deceased) Rhodes, Lolita (Damon) Bryant, and Lorri Hubbard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and adopted grandchildren, along with his dog-child, Harlem.

Bobby will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his joyful spirit, generous heart, and steadfast love for family. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and the love he so freely gave.
