Larry Williams a devoted and loving Christian, husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, transitioned from earth unto Glory, peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio at the age of 67.
Larry Williams was born on October 31, 1951 in Canton Ohio to Ms. Iphigenia Smith and the late Jackie Mitchell. Larry was loved and raised by his father the late Ivory Smith, Jr. Larry graduated from Northwestern High School in 1970 in Detroit, MI. and worked for The Chrysler Corporation as a print setter. He was a faithful and devoted staff member of Rhoden Memorial Home for more than a decade. Larry accepted Christ at an early age, his early faithful and devotion to Christ guided him throughout his life. Larry especially enjoyed spending time with the apple of his eye his granddaughter Olivia, mentoring others and helping those less fortunate at the Church.
Larry was a kind compassionate and supportive man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a selfless soul that left a positive impact on everyone he met and mentored. Larry joined Life Ministries International Church as a devoted member becoming head of security and was then ordained as a Deacon and was affectionately called Deacon Larry by everyone that knew him. Larry was known for his stylish hats, flashy suits, fancy shoes and his ability to memorize scripture, share his own personal testimonies and make others laugh. He often stood in as a father figure to many young men that entered his life. Larry will be deeply missed by All who knew and loved him.
In addition to his fathers, Larry was preceded in death by his brothers, Peter and Gregory.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory his best friend, life partner, and wife of 36 years Theresa Williams, his only child, his daughter Nikiana, and son-in-love, Douglas Sell; the apple of his eye, his granddaughter Olivia Diane Sell of Detroit, Michigan; mother, Iphigenia Smith of Canton Ohio; siblings, Ricardo (Vicky) Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, Darlene Hawkins of Sandusky, Ohio, Elena Long, Ivory Smith III, Darrel Smith, Ecila Tuck , and Ozell Varnadore, all of Canton, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Frederick (Chevella) McGhee and Michael (Cynthia) Heggs both of Detroit, Michigan; sister-in-law, Jackie Moore of Henderson, Nevada.; two special ladies that he and his wife developed an amazing friendship with, Deb Baker and Barb Card; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
