DAVID COOK

David Cook, 63 years old, went home to be with our Lord on April 16, 2022. Born on April 18, 1958, to Martha and Sidney Cook, he was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio.

           As the second youngest of thirteen children, he was proud of his family. Following in the footsteps of his older brothers, David was always impeccably dressed. He could usually be found in jeans with crisp creases, hard bottom  oxfords, dress pants with a matching towel over his shoulder or a nice Kangol hat.

Most notably, he was known for his deep appreciation and love of music. Whether it was jazz, funk or soul, David could identify the artists, instruments and origin of the song. He played several instruments including bass guitar, drums, the keyboard and had a beautiful singing voice. Hailing from a musically inclined family, he also taught several nieces and nephews how to play instruments. In his young       adulthood, he was featured in a local singing group. The laurel of his life remains his loving family who cared for him until the very end. David has left a permanent impression on every life he was able to touch. His legacy will live on      forever in the hearts of those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers John Cook, Sidney Cook, Jr. and Albert Cook; sisters, Betty Johnson, Rosie Cook-Harris and Bessie Esland.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Nathaniel (Nevis) Cook of Akron, OH; sisters, Pearl Clemons of Akron, OH, Geraldine (Wayne) Stargell of Warren, OH, Dolly    Parson (Charline) of Cleveland, OH, Linda (Kenneth)   Henderson of Orlando, FL, Jeanette (Mike) Clemmons of Akron, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
