Darrell Edward "Man" Weems was born June 9, 1959 to Clyde "Buster” Weems Sr and Lovytta Weems in Akron, Ohio. Darrell was affectionately known as Gangster because he was so fly from an early age. Man knew what he wanted and how it to achieve it from a young age. He was an astounding athlete excelling in football and as a power lifter. He earned many awards for his talents on and off the football field as a football player and coach for the South Rangers as well as a body builder and in bench pressing.
Darrell made his family so proud of him. He was a graduate of South High School and upon graduation he enlisted in The United States Marine Corps. He worked as a supervisor at Allumaloy and most recently was employed at Land O Lakes in batch production. Man loved spending time with family and friends, watching football, basketball and boxing. He loved to dress to impress and kept his car clean.
Darrell is preceded in death by his infant son, Darrell E Weems Jr.; daughter, Ericka Weems; father, Clyde "Buster” Weems; mother, Lovytta Weems; sister, Marlynn "Bennie" O'Neal; nephews, JaJuan Weems and Davieon Frazier; Brenda Lewis-Weems and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Darrell is survived by his loving children son, Brandon Weems; Daughter, Shermaine (John) Weems- Reed; stepchildren, Shawn and Madisyne Davis; wife, LaChanti; Grandchildren, Jayana Weems Johnae Reed and John Reed III; brother Clyde (Kimberly) Weems; Sisters Dorthea "Dodie" Weems-Frazier, Stacey Weems and Shawn Weems; the entire Weems, McClain, Watkins, Davis and Lewis Families, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, uncles, aunts, family and friends.
