Darie Davis affectionately known as "Petes" passed away November 14, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on June 26, 1954, in Akron, Ohio.
Darie attended Akron Public School, graduating from Garfield High School, Class of 1973. He was a member of the Track and Field Team, receiving many medals for his achievements. Darie was employed by BF Goodrich, Henry Elementary, and Goodwill Industries, retiring in July of 2016. He loved listening to jazz music, playing basketball, and was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan for over 50 years, promising to never watch them again after every loss, only to return for the next game, dressed in his Brown's gear. He was also a big fan of the Cavs, never forgetting the 2016 championship win.
Darie's signature collection of fedoras was a compliment to all of his suits, and his sportswear always included a fresh pair of Jordans. He enjoyed his family gatherings over the years, although he was the last one to show up most of the time. His pace was his and his alone, never in a hurry for anything, smooth sailing, you could say. To know him is to love him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and love him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Luther James Davis and Catherine Peters; sister, Sylvia Davis.
He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers Martin Latson and Bernard (Cynthia) Davis all of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Margaret Evans, Sylvon Davis, Sharon Davis, Phyllis (Kenneth) Butler, April Davis, Renee Davis all of Akron, Ohio, LaVerne Davis of Houston, Texas, Sheryl McIntosh of Ellet, Ohio, Alice (Larry) Morgan of Canton, Ohio, Tracy Hardy of Maryland; longtime friends, Ramont Wright and Carl Bronner, special friend, Tim Prince, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
