Mr. Curtis Sims of Medina, Ohio departed this life on August 30, 2021. He was born on September 1, 1954 in Barberton, Ohio to Eleanor and Esau Sims, Sr.
Better known later in life as Captain Curtis Sims or CAPT, he was a very hard-working man who loved and supported his family.
Curtis loved to watch his movies, his sports teams and most of all HE LOVED THE LORD. He was an obedient servant of God and faithful member of THE WORD CHURCH in Cleveland, Ohio.
He loved to fly. In fact, he flew for major airlines for over 40 years and most recently retired from United Airlines, where he served for over 26 years as Captain.
Curtis loved his toys, as a child and as an adult. In fact, he loved almost anything with a motor or engine in it. He had the brain of a surgeon. His skill set on the computer and in the air (flying big jets) was impeccable.
Curtis lived his life and enjoyed retirement as of August 30, 2019, and unfortunately died on the very same day, August 30, 2021 - 2 years later.
He is survived by his loving mother and his loving father, Eleanor and Esau Sims, Sr.; sons, Curtis Andrew Sims and Spencer Aaron Sims; brother, Esau Sims, Jr. (Ricky); sister-in-law, Eulethia N. Sims; sister, Cynthia Meadows; brother-in-law, Deacon Barry Meadows; grandsons, Curtis Christian and Vincent Santee; nieces, Danielle Sims and Angela Carter; nephews, Rashawn Sims, Jeffrey Sims, Esau (Jay) Sims (deceased), George Carter, Jr., Andre Carter; aunties, Gwen Richardson, Louise Askew, and Alice Sims; and a host of cousins, friends, other family members, and acquaintances.
He touched the lived of many people with his loving heart and his generous nature, and he will be greatly missed.
