CORA KING Obituary

Cora Mae King was born May 2, 1960 to the late Walter Johnson Sr. and Queen Esther Wells. Cora confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, attending as an active member of Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C. She later joined and became a faithful member of Community Life C.O.G.I.C until she took her heavenly flight on September 13, 2021. She is preceded in death by her Father; Walter Johnson Sr., Mother, Queen Esther Wells., Sister, Ester Mae Johnson., Brother, Edward Lee Johnson. Cora was a loving,devoted:  Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and so much more. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. She would host Thanksgiving, Easter, Sunday dinners, and family game nights for her children and grandchildren. She made it her tradition to have Christmas breakfast. Her grandchildren looked forward to the personalized “goodie bags” she made for them each holiday. A phenomenal cook -- well known for her 7UP and caramel cakes. As a faithful member of Community Life, she served as President of the Salt and Light Ministry, choir member, and usher. She inspired many with the daily scriptures and inspirational quotes she posted to her social media accounts. Her faith, courage, loyalty, resilience, and godliness was admirable. Her laugh was truly infectious. Her smile could light up any room and she will be missed immensely. She leaves to cherish her memories to her loving Husband, Stephon R. King Sr. She leaves a cherishing legacy to her loving children, Chasidy Dixon, Alexsis Johnson, Derrick Johnson,Thomas Ellis (Canton, Ohio), Stephon (Juwthailot) King Jr, Christina King and Melissa King (Texas) Thirteen Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren. Siblings; Eugene Chism of Canton, Ohio; Lillie (Benard) Wells of Warren, Ohio; Walter (Olivia) Johnson; Rosemary (Richard) Fontes; Christine Johnson; Elder Rick (Bertha) Johnson; Teresa (Edward) Turpin all of Canton, Ohio; Pamela (Moses) Moore, and LeCurtis Sheppard both of Alabama. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church families, and friends. Sister in Love, Tammie Green- Frazier. Goddaughter, Carrie “Tootie” Freeman; Dear Friends; Theresa Thompson, Glenda Murray and Bridgette James. Special appreciation: Mother Lois Taylor.
