CLYDE COVINGTON

Clyde Covington, age 74, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, after an extended illness. He was born on June 4, 1950, in Canton, Ohio.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Carrie Will (Glenn) Covington; his brother, Edward J. Covington Jr.; and his special companion, Donna Lynn Hill-Moore.

A proud graduate of McKinley Senior High School, Clyde went on to work for many years at Timken Steel. Known for his sharp sense of style and lively spirit, Clyde was truly the life of the party. He never met a stranger, and his warmth and charisma left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

He leaves to celebrate his life two daughters, Nikki Swift and Ravon Wise; seven grandchildren, Lyric Swift, Artaija Dates, Te’Erica Grimes, Eric Grimes Jr, Rahsye Pugh, Kaylee Jones, and Ava Hill; six sisters, Erdeen Torrence, Williedean Burton, Mabel Covington, Juanita Covington and Sharon Covington all of Canton, Sandra Proctor of Alliance; one brother, Donald Covington of Canton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
