CINDY MAE (GORY) TOWNSEND

Cindy Mae Townsend (Gory), was born on September 22, 1955 to Robert Townsend and Eula Mae Lowe in Warren, Ohio. She was the youngest girl of 14 brothers and sisters. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio at a young age. During this time she met her husband of many years, Arvis Gory, and to their union had four children.

Cindy’s favorite pass time was shopping every chance she got. She loved to open her home to her many family members and friends. To know her was to love her. Cindy moved to Akron, Ohio then to Arkansas where she spent her last beautiful year.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eula Townsend; her devoted husband, Arvis Gory; her son, Arvis Jr.; her brothers, Ted, Robert, Jr., Luke, Willie and James; and sisters, Lena Townsend, Alberta Smith, Nettie McQueen, Rose Allen and Madgie Townsend.

She leaves to mourn her passing, daughters, LaTonya, Elizabeth (Rodge), and Lakitha (Devonte); her nieces whom she raised like her own, Latsse Bishop and Karima Townsend; brothers, Alfred, David and Steve Townsend all of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Antwan, J’Len, Shalay, Dacai, Arviyona, Amere, and Brayshawn, special nephew, Kyrie, whom she also raised; great grandchildren, Ahzara and Novah; special sister, Charlene Brent; nieces and nephews, Quinton and MeMe Austion, Antionette, Eric and Darrow; friends, Ms. Brown and Tasha of Arkansas and a host of other relatives and friends.
