Charles Anthony Hilton was born in Akron, Ohio on November 3rd, 1960, to Herbert and Emma Hilton. He attended Buchtel High School where he was an active member of the wrestling team, and both the drama and debate clubs. After high school, he worked landscaping with his brother-in-law Robert Wise before relocating to Minneapolis, MN to pursue a career in boxing.
Charles grew attending St. Paul Fire Baptized Holiness Church in Akron where he received his religious education and doctrine. In his youth he enjoyed playing little baseball and was an excellent bowler. Charles had an interest in business and marketing, so he decided to further his education. He attended the University of Akron to pursue his dream until 1983 when unfortunate events led him to lose his vision. Even with this new challenge, he continued to seek higher education.
Charles loved to listen to music and would always be singing to himself or whoever was fortunate enough to be around to listen. He loved to make people laugh. He told wild stories just to get a rise out of people. He was generous, courageous, a smooth talker and an influencer.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Emma Hilton, his brothers; Herbert Jr., and Ernest Lee; sister, Margaret Ann Smith and his niece and nephews Latoka Wise, Travis Hilton, Tyrone Hilton, and Reginald Hilton
Charles leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his brothers, Gerald (Dr. Joyce) Hilton, Dale (Jennifer) Hilton, his beloved sisters Lois Evans, Gladys Johnson, Geraldine Matthews, Lydia Hilton, Lavern Lacy, Connie (Phillip) Wise-Germany, Henrietta Hilton, Pamela (Roy) Bowens, Dr. Doris (Joseph) Atanmo-Strempek and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Special friend, Michael Sims of Minneapolis, MN who was Charles "eyes" for over 5 years
