CHARLES HENDERSON Obituary

 

Charles Edward Henderson, age 73, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022.  Born March 15, 1949 to the late Elmer and AileeneHenderson, Charles was a resident of Waynesburg, Ohio for many years and a former resident of California. 

Amongst his many accolades, Charles received an honorable discharge from the United States Army.  He received a National Defense Service Medal for Marksman Badge (Rifle). Charles was a hard and dedicated worker doing construction work. Charles graduated from Sandy Valley High School being the first African –American quarterback at Sandy Valley.  He was also a former member of A. Philip Randolph Akron-Canton Chapter.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his sister Althea Henderson.

Charles is survived by his sons, Charles Edward (Lavon) Henderson Jr., Cameron (Triston) Henderson both of Camorillo, California, Hammarabi Days of Santa Barbra, California; godson, Michael O. Cheek II of Canton, Ohio; daughters, Raina Henderson for Memphis, Tennessee, Taijia Tate of Canton, Ohio; brothers, William (Lori) Henderson of Waynesburg, Ohio, Dean Henderson of Canton, Ohio; sister, Veronica (Michael) Cheek Sr. of Canton, Ohio; uncles, Allen Griffin of Chicago, Illinois, Donald Henderson of North Carolina; aunts, Vivian Reid, Dorleen Griffin, Vera Griffin all of Chicago, Illinois, Delores Henderson; grandchildren, Imara Henderson, Maya Henderson, Jamiln Althea Henderson, Alasia Tate, Amari Ranole; grandsons,Jelani Henderson, Tae’Jean Averette, Seshae Henderson, and Elijah Henderson, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
